Joan Baez Documentary Screening

Art for Human Rights hosted two special benefit screenings of the acclaimed documentary Joan Baez: I Am A Noise at the Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin.

Ambassador of Conscience Award

The Ambassador of Conscience Award was conceived and created by Bill Shipsey in 2003 for Art for Amnesty to benefit Amnesty International. The award drew inspiration from the last two lines of Seamus Heaney’s poem, “From The Republic of Conscience,” written for Amnesty International Ireland in 1985.

Windows on Elsewhere

Sixty individuals who were forced to flee their countries describe their journey from “elsewhere” taking inspiration from their drawn window view by internationally acclaimed artist and architect Matteo Pericoli.

Memorial Busts

Since 2014, Art for Human Rights has commissioned memorial busts of human rights heroes Eleonor Roosevelt, Liu Xiaobo and Václav Havel and has placed them in iconic locations around the world.

Instant Karma

“Instant Karma” is a compilation album of artists covering songs of John Lennon to benefit Amnesty International’s campaign to alleviate the crisis in Darfur.

Tapestries

Art for Human Rights has partnered with a number of artists to honour human rights heroes through monumental Aubusson tapestries.

Anything Can Happen

Anything Can Happen is the title of Seamus Heaney’s translation of an ode by Horace that was translated into 23 languages in association with Art for Human Rights (formerly Art for Amnesty).

Art for Human Rights partnered with Magnum Photos to present twenty iconic images from the Magnum Photos archive over the past 60 years, representing six decades of the global struggle for human rights.

Art Auctions

Damien Rice Tour

Irish singer songwriter Damien Rice partnered with Jófríður Ákadóttir and Sandrayati Fay to write “Song for Berta”, inspired by the life of Berta Cáceres, an indigenous leader and environmental activist who was murdered in her native Honduras in 2015 as a result of her work.

Resolute RGL Paris Fashion Week Launch

Art for Human Rights hosted and supported the Paris Fashion Week Launch of Resolute RGL, an ethical fashion sneaker brand centred in the South Hebron Hills of the West Bank and co-founded by Palestinian, Israeli and International activists.

El Holocausto

El Holocausto is a monumental 12-meter tapestry commissioned by Art for Human Rights that stands as a tribute to the victims of the Holocaust and all genocide.

Dolomites Human Chain

In September 2015, Art for Amnesty and Amnesty International Italy brought 6,000 activists together to form a 10km long human chain to encircle the iconic “Tre Cime” to show solidarity with refugees.

Azulejos
