Resolute RGL is a sneaker and apparel brand with a deeper purpose. Nearly six years ago, activists Basel Adra and Joseph Levin set out to support the Palestinian community of Massafer Yatta in the South Hebron HIlls of the West Bank through economic empowerment. Working alongside the A-Twan’e community, the company creates economic opportunities while amplifying their voices on a global stage.
At the heart of this effort is the Palestinian Women’s Weaving Cooperative, founded by Kifah Adra (Basel’s mother), which preserves the centuries-old craft of Tatreez embroidery while providing artisans with a stable income.
Tatreez is a centuries-old Palestinian embroidery tradition, passed down through generations as both an art form and a means of storytelling. While it traditionally adorned dresses (thobes) and textiles, it has evolved with contemporary fashion, as it is more than embroidery— it’s a claim to identity and a safeguard against erasure, remaining a powerful symbol of resilience and cultural preservation.
Resolute RGL’s debut sneaker collection blends handmade Palestinian Tatreez embroidery with premium leather, these sneakers tell a story of solidarity, peaceful resistance, and the strength of a community standing up to injustice. This narrative is powerfully captured in the Oscar-winning documentary, No Other Land, a poignant film directed by Basel Adraa, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham, and Rachel Szor.
The documentary tells the story of Basel, a young Palestinian activist, who has spent his life resisting the forced displacement of his people in Masafer Yatta, where Israeli soldiers demolish homes to create a military firing zone. Documenting the destruction, he forms an unlikely friendship with Yuval, a Jewish Israeli journalist who supports his struggle. However, their bond is tested by the stark contrast in their realities—the former endures constant oppression and violence, while the latter lives with freedom and security.
The film offers a raw, unflinching look at the daily realities faced by Palestinians in the South Hebron Hills, where land theft, harassment, and violence have become a part of everyday life.
Through intimate storytelling, No Other Land reveals the steadfast resolve of families like Basel’s, who, despite constant displacement and fear, continue to fight for their land, heritage, and rights. The film highlights the strength of individuals like him and Kifah, whose leadership in the Palestinian Women’s Weaving Cooperative is a testament to the power of community, resistance and resilience.
Despite being an awarded and critically acclaimed documentary, No Other Land was unable to secure a U.S. distributor. However, it qualified for an Academy Award nomination through a one-week theatrical run at Film at Lincoln Center in New York City. That limited release made it eligible for the Oscar race, and against the odds, it secured a nomination for Best Documentary Feature.
Resolute RGL’s mission is deeply intertwined with the documentary’s message: giving a platform by shining a light to the Palestinian community’s fight for autonomy and self-determination. As the brand scales, the company is committed to expanding its partnerships with other marginalized communities worldwide, using its platform to amplify the voices of those who are often unacknowledged and neglected.
Resolute RGL is committed to ethical practices, prioritizing recycled materials and sustainable growth. The vision is a closed-loop system where each sale promotes economic development and global awareness, creating a cycle of growth that benefits both the community and the brand.
The ethical fashion market is rapidly growing, a clear sign that in today’s world, it’s more important than ever to align our spending with our values. By supporting companies like this—ones that not only deliver high-quality products but also empower production communities and honor the intangible cultural heritage passed down through generations—we help sustain traditions whose value is immeasurable, while ensuring that our purchases contribute to meaningful change.
