Anything Can Happen is the title of Seamus Heaney’s translation of an ode by Horace that was translated into 23 languages in association with Art for Human Rights (formerly Art for Amnesty).
Anything Can Happen: A Poem and an Essay, is a unique poetry book by Irish Poet Seamus Heaney. Based on Horace‘s Odes, Heaney’s version was composed in the aftermath of September 11th and lets us hear ‘the voice of an individual in shock at what can happen in the world.’
The Foreword of the book was written by Art for Human Rights founder Bill Shipsey. In an accompanying essay, the poet reflects upon the relevance of art in the political context of the twenty-first century. It was translated into 23 languages, in association with Art for Amnesty and for the support of Amnesty International.
